How can I benefit from LabelLink®?

If you are looking to eliminate interruptions to the labelling process while the roll is changed, LabelLink® splicing procedure is a logical, affordable alternative to equipping a labelling machine with a double label roll dispensing system. Such double systems require a large amount of space and often require additional printing and control setups.

In contrast, the LabelLink® splice procedure can be integrated into even the smallest of labelling machines in the tightest of spaces.

The LabelLink®splice procedure creates a reliable and robust connection between the end of an empty label roll and start of a new one. No labels are wasted through mishaps such as tears during the splicing procedure. The loss per roll change is precisely one single label: the material can be calculated exactly.

Benefits for users

Modern labelling machines with speeds of up to 500 labels/min will only reach their full capacity if the downtime incurred when changing rolls and disposing of the rolls of empty liner can be eliminated.

The rolls of labels widely used in the industry often contain a maximum of just 500 labels, due to their thickness. This necessitates frequent roll changes, even for labelling machines with a relatively low output. The result is countless interruptions to the labelling process and a high use of staff time.

Thanks to LabelLink®, the machine operator is not under any time pressure, since the roll change can be performed calmly at any point rather than in a hectic manner at the precise moment when the end of the old roll is reached.

A roll change that can be performed at any time brings a further benefit: completely separating the roll change and splicing procedures may result in lower staffing requirements on the packaging line.

Not only does LabelLink® allow you to choose when the procedures are carried out, it also lets you choose where. Roll changes and splicing can be moved away from areas with a high hazard potential for operating personnel, such as robotic packaging lines, or from areas with strict hygiene standards (e.g. filling processes in cleanrooms).

The LabelLink® splice system offers you:

  • An automatic splice between adhesive label rolls – suitable for all label and liner materials
  • An automatic splice without slowing down or halting the labelling process
  • A neat and precise connection between the empty and fresh label web rolls

The LabelLink® splice head is offered as part of a splicing machine built by the internationally renowned manufacturer Bausch & Ströbel, whose machines are widely used in filling plants throughout the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.

Our cost calculator can help you to gain a first impression of the financial benefits you can expect from integrating the LabelLink® splicing system into your operations.
