The web splice is fully automated and takes place in a specially designed splice head. Two different models are available:
- JetSplice® splice head
- LabelLink® splice head
If you are looking to eliminate interruptions to the labelling process while the roll is changed, LabelLink® splicing procedure is a logical, affordable alternative to equipping a labelling machine with a double label roll dispensing system. Such double systems require a large amount of space and often require additional printing and control setups.
More AdvantagesThe LabelLink® splicing procedure connects label webs in the form of an overlapping splice. This creates a smooth transition with no uneven bumps in the label web and also ensures that the spacing between labels is unaffected by the join.
All that is necessary is for your label manufacturer to affix the LabelLink®splice tape to the core of your label rolls before winding the label web around it.
Information for usersChanging the adhesive label rolls often requires a labelling machine to be brought to a disruptive and costly standstill or, in the worst case scenario, can even bring the entire production line to a grinding halt. The label web splicing system LabelLink®, an innovation from Verpackungstechnik Jetter GmbH, is an elegant and efficient solution to this problem which allows for a quick and brilliantly simple transition from the old label web to the new.
The LabelLink® splicing procedure can be carried out either manually (for slower band speeds) or, for moderate or fast-paced band speeds, as a fully automated process. For the fully automated solution, the labelling machine needs to be fitted out with the appropriate technology by the manufacturers.
The fully automated version of LabelLink® enables a much simpler uninterrupted labelling than, for example, the commonly used parallel installation of two dispensing heads and the corresponding printing and control systems. Such setups require a large amount of space and are ultimately very costly.
If you are looking to eliminate interruptions to the labelling process while the roll is changed, LabelLink® splicing procedure is a logical, affordable alternative to equipping a labelling machine with a double label roll dispensing system. Such double systems require a large amount of space and often require additional printing and control setups.
In contrast, the LabelLink® splice procedure can be integrated into even the smallest of labelling machines in the tightest of spaces.
The LabelLink®splice procedure creates a reliable and robust connection between the end of an empty label roll and start of a new one. No labels are wasted through mishaps such as tears during the splicing procedure. The loss per roll change is precisely one single label: the material can be calculated exactly.
